Feel'Em - 10th Mini Album
Release Date: March 6, 2017
Rating: 5 out of 5 stars

★★★★★

Hello world! I have been so behind on my album review lately and there are a good number of amazing ones that have released this month and I want to review them all. (struggles) Anyway, BTOB is one of my favorite groups because they're a bunch of super talented artists with goofy personalities.

This album is so different from their I'll Be Your Man era as it displays their fun and playful side. I was watching a bunch of interviews behind the inspiration of this concept and how each member feels which was really interesting.

As with their last album, I absolutely love their title track. Everything about it from the colorful music video to just everything! On of my favorite parts is Peniel's rap which is just a masterpiece in itself. I might be a bit biased cause it's the only long portion of the song that I understand since it's in English, but the lines are just so solid.

BTOB also released Someday, the last track in this mini-album in February and it's such in the classic BTOB ballad style. The song is so heartfelt and the vocals just sends so many shivers and goosebumps. The entire mini-album has a bunch of fun and quirky songs that gives the group a bright and colorful image. Also, I'm so glad they were able to win since the competition was pretty intense on the shows they were promoting on.

Hello world! I've got another Yesstyle haul to share with you all today! I realized after I made this post's banner that I have two items that are not Yesstyle products, but the majority of the items are from Yesstyle so we can just go with it.

Ever since I tried the Face Shop's Mono Pop Eyeshadow palette review), I've been on this huge eyeshadow kick and Yesstyle just happened to be having a pretty neat sale mid-January for Chinese New Year. Honestly, I need someone to restrict me from buying anything else from that site for the next year because two purchases in four months feels so excessive >.<

:
I picked up six items recently (from left to right):
Etude House Dear Darling Water Gel Tint in PK003 Sweet Potato Red
Nature Republic Butter Balm x EXO in 01 (Xiumin)
Nature Republic Butter Balm X EXO in 02 (Chanyeol)
Missha Triple Eyeshadow in 06 Marsala Red
Missha Triple Eyeshadow in 01 Brownie Pink
Heimish Dailism Eyeshadow Palette in Cozy Coral

:
I already own one of the Etude House Dear Darling Tints and wanted to try another color so I picked up this one. I'll have a review of both shades up in the future so keep a lookout for that. PK0003 is a beautiful muted red which is really nice for an everyday gradient lip.

The other two lip products I actually picked up while I was in NYC (vlog) at the Nature Republic store in K-Town. Personally, I'm not a huge fan of EXO but I picked these up because they were on sale and the colors were really pretty.

:
And last we have the eyeshadows! I am so in love. I picked two of the Missha Triple Eyeshadows and they're just super cute and compact and honestly great for traveling since you can do a whole makeup look with just one of them.

Then we have the beautiful Heimish Dailism palette which I have wanted to get my hands on every since Meejmuse raved about them. I picked Cozy Coral since it was on sale but I swatched the palette and I'm honestly obsessed with all the colors. I definitely want to pick up at least two other palettes but I need to save up some money first o(≧∇≦o)

Those are all the products I've picked up recently! I'll definitely be having review for each one coming soon, I'm trying to maintain a balance in terms of the variety of posts cause I don't want to overwhelming bombard you guys with one topic. If you've ever used any of these products let me know in the comments or if you have a particular product you'd like to see the review first just leave it down below. :)

After seven grueling years of captivity in the Garden—a burlesque troupe of slave girls—sixteen-year-old Rose finds an opportunity to escape during a performance for the emperor. But the hostage she randomly chose from the crowd to aid her isn’t one of the emperor’s men—not anymore. He’s the former heir to the throne, who is now leading a rebellion against it.

Rayce is a wanted man and dangerously charismatic, the worst person for Rose to get involved with, no matter what his smile promises. But he assumes Rose’s attempt to take him hostage is part of a plot to crush the rebellion, so he takes her as his hostage. Now Rose must prove where her loyalties lie, and she offers Rayce a deal—if he helps her rescue the other girls, she’ll tell him all the Garden’s secrets.

Except the one secret she’s kept for seven years that she’ll take to her grave if she must.

Before we get started, let's wish a big happy release day to Garden of Thorns! If you're interested in picking up a copy after reading the review, just click on the cover and it'll take you to the Amazon page for purchase (not sponsored btw.)

Garden of Thorns intrigued from the beginning with its stunning yet simple cover and alluring synopsis. When I was granted an ARC for review, the publicist said that so many people requested it that they had a hard time narrowing the list down. This is one of those books that lures you in, holds you captivated throughout the story, and then drops a bomb at the end.

From the very beginning, there's this mystical aura that surrounds our main character Rose. She's the star Flower of her troupe called the Garden, made up of slave girls who are forced to entertain in a land where entertainment has been banned. If the girls do not obey the Master's demands, he'll punish their Wilted, companions whose sole purpose is to take beatings for the Flowers. This entire concept was so intriguing to me and the relationship that Rose has with her Wilted, Fern, just further emphasizes that bond. If Rose disobeys, she'll be punished emotionally by watching Fern take her beatings.

When the Garden makes its way to the capital to entertain the emperor, Rose finds herself running away from captivity but instead of using one of the emperor's guards, she ends up choosing the ex-heir Rayce. From that fateful meeting onward, there's no slow moment as Rose is constantly trying to go back to safe her Flower sisters while Rayce is trying to lead a rebellion to overthrow his uncle.

I'm pretty sure I read this entire novel in about three hours and I definitely sacrificed some piano practice time to finish it, but every single moment was worth it. From the beginning to the end, Rose just grows up so much and learns to trust and build new relationships that strengthen her as a character. I loved her relationship with Rayce and while sometimes she did act a bit irrationally which led to certain consequences, they help teach the other what it means to trust and love someone.

Garden of Thorns is just such a fascinating story that it's hard to describe clearly what I felt when reading. There's so much action from Rose escaping the Garden to Rayce and his rebellion trying to rescue the Flowers that you don't get a second to take a breath before something else happens. As secrets start to be revealed, the plot just grabs you and holds you utterly captive to the story. I hope there's a follow up because there were some points left unresolved and mostly because I want more from the characters and this world.

Rookie - 4th Mini Album
Released: February 1, 2017
Rating: 5 out of 5 stars
★★★★★

Hello world! I'm back with another album review and this one is so incredibly late I apologize. I didn't post any February releases last month so I have a bit of catching up to do especially since there are so many amazing comebacks in March.

I first listened to Red Velvet during their Russian Roulette era and while I enjoyed the title track, I didn't love the entire album. For Rookie, it was a bit a switch as I started off loving the other tracks and not being a huge fan of the actual title track itself. However, watching all the dance covers and music show performances soon has the song stuck in my head and I had the entire album on repeat for the entire month.

Other than Rookie, I love their second track "Little Little" and got so excited whenever they performed it on music shows. Their outfits on the shows were also so adorable, especially their "Little Little" dresses which kind of reminded me of Alice in Wonderland.

After this era, I definitely consider myself a Red Velvet fan as opposed to just enjoying their music. I also figured out every member which is always a success for me cause it usually takes me forever to do that.
